December 7 2016. I John 3:1-3.

Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.

Answers to prayer

To say that God answers prayer is a rhetorical statement, but sometimes it happens before we've had the sense to ask our Heavenly Father for the needs that face us. Tonight just such an event took place. We love our church family dearly and are thankful for everyone and the multiple ways they have touched our lives and needs. Oral baptist you are a shining beacon to what the church aught to be. Your love and the love of the Savior will compass the globe.

How stupid do they think we are?

Apparently pretty stupid. Just heard a commercial that tried to "clear up" the misinformation of other chicken sales and marketing. Chicken seller one has birds that have been raised without antibiotics and they use this fact as part of their sales pitch. Chicken seller two is a large chicken producer and they are the ones making the commercial. They are informing the unsuspecting public that by federal law you can't sell chicken that has residual antibiotics present in the meat. They tell you that the other seller is using tricky and untrue information to get you to buy their more expensive product. The thing that gets me is that seller two wants you to think there is no difference between no antibiotic used and no antibiotic traces left in the birds system. Do you want something that has never had poison in it or something that no longer has traces of poison? I understand that there are times where antibiotics are necessary to keep some diseases from spreading

"The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that hearkeneth unto counsel is wise." ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭12:15‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Here's a Bible passage I'd like to share with you...

"Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another." ‭‭1 John‬ ‭4:10-11‬ ‭KJV‬‬ http://bible.com/1/1jn.4.10-11.kjv

The presidential circus

The louder the cry from the media, and the democrat party for Trump to resign over his "locker room banter", the more I'm inclined against my better judgment to vote for him. Now I say inclined not convinced.  In an apples to apples comparison, the Clinton's have showed far greater lack of judgment, and less character, than the latest revelation of Trump's antics.  I'm thinking of daily calling for Clinton's resignation as the Democratic party nominee. This would be based on real criminal activity that she has been involved in, as well as her husband, and their corrupt associates.  Did Donald's talking get the US ambassador killed? Did his talk criminally defraud the people of Haiti? The list is long, and the body count is high, of those that have fallen in the wake of the Clinton's, but you won't hear the call for her to leave the party.  I think this will backfire on the Bush family, who as I understand it, are the ones behind the rel

Love without deceit

Love comes to us from being loved. How do we know we are loved by God? He tells us and shows us. Let : love be without dissimulation  pretense , dissembling,  deceit ,  dishonesty ,  duplicity ,  lying ,  guile ,  subterfuge , feigning, shamming, faking,  bluff , bluffing, posturing,  hypocrisy "he was capable of great dissimulation and hypocrisy"

Burn in me, fire of God

Burn in me, Fire of God, Burn till my heart is pure; Burn till your life shines out in me, Steadfast and strong and sure. Burn in me, Fire of God, Spare not for price not pain; Burn till all dross of earth consume, Only your gold remain. Burn in me, Fire of God, Burn till your eyes can see Jesus' own image, strong and sure, Formed by your grace in me!

Sept. 23

"Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;" ‭‭Colossians‬ ‭3:12‬ ‭ One of the ongoing reminders of our studying of the Word at Oral has been, context of scripture. The boundless and unfathomable depths of the scripture never ceases to amaze me. We know that we serve the creator of the universe and that He is timeless. We know that He sent His only begotten Son, and John tells us that the Word was make flesh and dwelt among us. The holy scriptures that we have are the words of truth and yet I am blown away at the timelessness of the instructions from the Master of the Universe. Speaking of context, I went back and reread for the um-teenth time and yet for the first time once again, the 3rd chapter of Colossians. If ye be risen with Christ, set your affections on things above not on things on the earth. Mortify your members and put off anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy comm

Sept 22

"Hear counsel, and receive instruction, that thou mayest be wise in thy latter end. There are many devices in a man's heart; nevertheless the counsel of the Lord, that shall stand." ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭19:20-21‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Sept 21

"To love at all is to be vulnerable. Love anything, and your heart will certainly be wrung and possibly broken. If you want to make sure of keeping it intact, you must give your heart to no one, not even to an animal. Wrap it carefully round with hobbies and little luxuries; avoid all entanglements; lock it up safe in the casket or coffin of your selfishness. But in that casket- safe, dark, motionless, airless--it will change. It will not be broken; it will become unbreakable, impenetrable, irredeemable." ~C. S. Lewis

Psalms 77:12-14

12   I will meditate also of all thy work, and talk of thy doings. 13  Thy way, O God,  is  in the sanctuary: who  is so  great a God as  our  God? 14  Thou  art  the God that doest wonders: thou hast declared thy strength among the people. I have been doing a little research on natural ways to control blood pressure and came across an article on transcendental meditation. Look it up yourself if you are curious or don't know what it is.  Made me think of meditating on God and His word, then I read a friend's FB post about his wife keeping a journal of her bible study time to have a record to come back to in the course of meditating on God and the things of note.  Phil 4:8,9  8  Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. 9  Those thing

I don't mind sharing my thoughts to Facebook every now and then, but I tire quickly of rants ranging from politics to religion on the facebag so I thought it was time to revisit this outlet again. You are welcome to read or leave and comment or not as you wish.
