Thought of the day April 1

Titus 2:6-8
From this mornings reading this phrase stood out to me.
Pattern of good works
We as "young men" should live in such a way that we have a pattern of good works to be recognized by. You can see in others the faults and mistakes pretty easily, but most of the time we fail to see the beam in our own eye. Speaking of beams I have a new reference point having just moved several (over 100) oak beams each weighing just under 100# each. They are of considerable size yet we often over look the thing in our life that is beam-like in size and weight. We however must look to our own lives and be assured that we are leaving behind us a pattern of good works. It should go without saying that works will never earn you salvation. Isa 64:6

Young men likewise exhort to be sober minded. In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity, Sound speech, that cannot be condemned; that he that is of the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you.
